15 Sleeps to Christmas!! Bar Humbug!

If you happen to be one of the people who should be getting a Christmas card from us, and it hasn't arrived, don't feel bad, cos we haven't sent any!!! I know, thats terrible, but at least its consistent!
The weather however has been a little less consistent, but luckily we have almost always managed to get a break sufficient to get any flights in for people who have turned up.

Had a really nice flight up through a broken cloudscape a couple of days ago. Not long after airborne we were approaching the cloudbase which was broken, so we weaved around a little to avoid it, still climbibg, and as we crossed seaward of the coast, popped out into almost completely clear sky... not a breath of wind, so completely smooth, and the sea was almost a mirror... with the cloud giving a wonderful contrast to the blue sky and all of it reflecting in the sea. wow!!

I do like my office .. most days.. the opposite was a VERY bumpy flight a week or two back which luckily was not aerobatic, .. took until we past through 6500ft before we got out of the turbulence, the view was great, Mt Egmont visible about 180kms away, Farewell Spit with the tide out, all the Kahurangi mountains, the Kaikoura ranges.. and of course the beaches of the Abe Tasman looking like they are "backlit" they glow so brightly... so other than getting a bit thrown around, it was still better than working in the gas industry (another life!)

To see a recent flight.. check this out...
