Whew, Martin would have been proud, as he was always keen to get another flight done before the rain "really" sets in! and this morning was one of those days..
We pulled the Pitts Special ZK- ELI out twice, only to quickly push it back into the hangar as the rain came down again. But, the third time, we got airborne just as it decided to set in once more!!! Always adds an interesting dimension to flying an "open cockpit" style aircraft. You don't get wet once you are flying, but taxing around the airfield, you can get really wet, really quick! The upside is that any squashed bugs get pressure washed off again! handy that :)
So we had two very happy folk head off after doing a 20 minute flight each, and completeing rolls, loops, inverted flight, and Cuban 8's.
And the last word is feedback by Aaron from Ireland.
I had the time of my life! The great benefit over other extreme activities is that the thrill lasts a lot longer - you are in the sky and in control of the plane for a good 15 minutes, compared to an 8 second free fall with bungee and then it's all over. Allison and Vincent couldn't have been nicer and really made me feel at home. Top class - Lonely Planet, get on it! Thanks guys
